Nicole Simone Henton was born on May 1, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is an American singer-songwriter and actress. Henton has released five studio albums and one compilation album. Her fifth album, “The Divine Feminine”, was released in September 2017.

Henton began her music career in the early 1990s as the lead singer of the Philadelphia soul group The Darlings. In 1993, she released her debut solo album, “I’m Your Angel”. The album peaked at number forty on the Billboard 200 chart and produced two singles, “At Last” and “The Boy Is Mine”. She followed up “I’m Your Angel” with a second solo album, “Soul Food”, which was released in 1995.
